Week 1 Project: My Full Sail Story

Before I started the MCBS Program I was working in the music industry looking for a way to move ahead. I have worked in the music industry for the past 15 years and wanted to go outside the retail realm of it. I had always thought I wanted to try and succeed without a business degree in rebellion to my parents. I thought that my experience would be more than enough to start the conversation with many of the applications I put out. But then I ran into the inability to open doors because my current education just didn't seem to be enough. Having that extra bit of educational experience can really make a difference. Because of that I started to look into the possibilities of different forms of online education. That was when I found Full Sail in early 2016, and decided to pursue their Entertainment Business Management Bachelor program. Because of that I was about to take a hard look at what I wanted in a future career within the music industry. I have been really focusing on the possibility of diving more into the marketing or art direction side of the music retail side of the industry. Because of that I found a great direction I wanted to pursue. I'm planning on using my experience in retail management and specialized music retail to help tailor my business degree. This experience has finally helped me to look at enhancing my experience in the music industry. I'm more excited than ever to look at all the possibilities that are in front of me that can expand my knowledge and tenure in jobs I already have a huge passion for. And ever since I decided to pursue my passion for media, I have been able to develop a more meaningful and well rounded portfolio and experiences that pertain to the business degree I am pursuing. This has been a very wonderful opportunity that can only help extend my path to the future.
